Quantifiable UX: Improving Usability & Conversions
Wikipedia defines “usability” as the ease of use and learnability of a human-made object where the object can be anything. UX simply stated is “user experience” and in our world of website marketing, we use these terms in reference to website experience.
Jakob Nielson, author and renowned usability expert from Denmark, said that “The web is the ultimate customer-empowering environment. He or she who clicks the mouse gets to decide everything. It is so easy to go elsewhere; all the competitors in the world are but a mouseclick away.” Since we know this to be true, we want to make sure the experience we provide our visitors keeps them engaged and they find what they were looking for. The search engines don’t have credit cards, people do, so our sites need to be user-friendly so they can find their way around and complete our calls to action.
Making them search engine friendly is one thing. Making sure they are also user-friendly is another. In this Digital Marketing Bootcamp we will explore some of the different areas of user friendliness.
